Restylane®Lyft
Over time, the natural fat that surrounds the cheeks begins to deteriorate, resulting in sagging skin, more prominent wrinkles and a reduction of volume. Restylane® Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face.
Through nonsurgical injections, Restylane® Lyft is specifically designed to add fullness to the cheeks and midface area, which can result in a more natural-looking, youthful appearance. Restylane® Lyft is the only filler approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. This is in addition to treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines).
How Restylane® Lyft Works
Restylane® Lyft is injected under the surface of your skin to restore the natural contours of your face. Restylane® Lyft is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles in the cheek and mid face area. The Restylane line of products is designed to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Our NASHA® technology allows a unique particle size for each Restylane® product, which means they offer tailored treatments for individual, natural-looking results.
Benefits of Restylane® Lyft
Restylane® Lyft is specifically designed to add fullness to the cheek area, and the results will be immediate. Results in the midface area last up to 12 months. Nasolabial fold corrections last up to 6 months.
Who Can Receive Restylane® Lyft
The Restylane family of products should not be used by people who:
-
Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years for nasolabial folds and under 22 years for lips (Restylane and Restylane Silk only).
-
Have recently used drugs that thin the blood or prevent clotting
-
Have had previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria
-
Have serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital treatment
-
Have bleeding disorders
-
Have a known allergy to lidocaine, if using Restylane, Restylane Silk or Restylane Lyft
What to Expect
Restylane® Lyft treatment takes about 30 minutes and the amount of discomfort depends on the sensitivity of the patient’s skin. The product is injected just below the surface of the skin with a very fine needle. Patients may require a second visit to achieve a full correction of the area. The body will eventually absorb the product, so ongoing treatments are necessary to maintain results. If treatment is discontinued, your face will gradually return to its natural contours.
Injection-related reactions may occur such as post treatment swelling, redness, pain, itchiness, discoloration, and tenderness at the implant site. These reactions will resolve spontaneously within several days. Patients should avoid aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. Advil) prior to treatment as they will increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.
Restylane® Lyft Side Effects and Risks
After your treatment, you may experience side effects, such as swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache and itching at injection site and tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14–18 days in lips. Patients should be limited to 6.0 mL per treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
Cost of Restylane® Lyft
The cost of Restylane® Lyft varies for each patient, as the number of injections needed increases or decreases with each unique patient. During your consultation with Dr. Mary Pritikin, a plan for treatment will be put together based on your specific cosmetic and financial needs.
