Face / Dark Under Eye Circles

Dark circles under the eyes usually aren’t a sign of exhaustion or serious illness, though they can make you feel old, unhealthy and tired.

Dark circles affect both men and women, often starting in young adulthood. If you get plenty of sleep and still have dark circles under your eyes, that is not unusual. Fatigue isn’t the only reason for under eye circles. What appear to be under eye circles are sometimes just shadows cast by puffy  eyelids or hollow under your eyes that develop as a normal part of aging.

As an oculoplastic surgeon, this is Dr. Mary's signature procedure, which is tailored to eliminate the appearance of hollow under eyes and dark circles.

What causes dark circles?

Here are some of the most common causes of true under eye circles:

•  Heredity-dark circles and volume loss can run in the family

•  Pigmentation irregularities

•  Thinning skin and loss of fat and collagen, common as you age, can

make the reddish-blue blood vessels under your eyes more obvious.

Dr. Mary specializes in treating eyes as an oculo-plastic surgeon and master injector.

There are two different approaches Dr. Mary uses to correct your under eye circles. Based on your individual needs she will assess the treatment that will give you the best results possible.
Hyaluronic Gel Fillers can be used to correct hollowness under the eye due to natural loss of fat in the face. For most people, restoring the appearance of fat drastically changes the appearance of dark circles.
Nano Fat Transfer uses your own tissues to restore volume, texture and tone. The procedure itself takes about 45 minutes. Using a combination of the body's regenerative cells and fat tissue, the procedure offers a complete rejuvenation and natural-looking results without going under the knife.
